It was a long time coming, Lance Armstrong, the seven time Tour de France winner has come out to confess in an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey about his doping activities and other details of his run-ins with the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
The 41-year-old said it was “not possible” to win the the Tour de France seven times in a row without performance enhancement. He admitted to using blood-boosting agent, EPO; blood doping; testosterone, cortisone or human growth hormone to win all his Tour victories from 1999 to 2005.
Armstrong, who has already had his Tour wins taken away and been banned from the sport for life.
USADA has accused him of engaging in “the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping programme that sport has ever seen”.
