Lil Wayne Released From Hospital

Lil Wayne has been released from the hospital, multiple sources are reporting.

The rapper, who has hospitalized last week following a series of severe seizures, is finally heading home according to Mack Maine, who tweeted "@LilTunechi has been released and is headed home...God is great" on Monday evening. TMZ also confirmed the news, citing sources who say Wayne is "feeling weak but he's a lot better" and that he plans to "lay low until he makes a full recovery."

Weezy spent six days in the intensive care unit after allegedly overdosing on Sizzurp, though his friend and mentor Birdman denies that the dangerous cough syrup concoction was the cause. "It had nothing to do with drugs," the Cash Money boss said to Angie Martinez on Hot 97 on Monday afternoon. He blames the multiplatinum rapper's work schedule for the seizure, saying, "he just needs to rest, relax and take it one day at a time."

Birdman asserts that Wayne was on his way to a video shoot when the seizure occured on March 12, adding that doctors don't know what triggers the seizures that he is now known to suffer. "We already know, it's like the second or third time, so automatically we just lay him down and call the ambulance and get him to the hospital," he said. "It's nothing that they can cure; it's out of our control. It's something we have to live with and maintain."
He also flatly denies reports that Wayne was in a medical-induced coma and was being prepared for his last rites. "He was never in that kind of situation throughout the whole few days we've been in the hospital. He never been about to die," he said. "We got family and kids. When you putting out false rumors like that, you can really damage families like that, fear them and have them feared."

Whatever the cause, Wayne's friends and fans are glad he's headed home and continue to pray for his swift recovery.
