There was pandemonium at Orogun junction in Ibadan yesterday when a fuel tanker burst into flames, leaving at least five injured. Report has it that the accident happened when fuel the tanker was carrying was being transferred from the tanker into another
The incident that reportedly happened around 1pm forced vehicle owners who had parked by the roadside to hurriedly evacuate their vehicles. The inferno also burnt about eight shops and two Sport Utility Vehicles.
Though there were unconfirmed reports that three persons died, the firemen that rushed the victims to the hospital said nobody died in the incident.
