DRAKE REACTS TO KENDRICK LAMAR’S ‘CONTROL’ VERSE: ‘HE’S NOT MURDERING ME’

Kendrick Lamar and Drake
Kendrick Lamar lit a fire in his peers with his explosive verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” But Drake isn’t sweating it. The Canadian rapper says the Compton MC doesn’t pose a threat to him.
Drake, along with J. Cole, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, and Mac Miller, was among the MCs called out by Kendrick.
So how did he react? “I went about my day, went and got dinner and kept it moving,” Drizzy told Billboard.

“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” he continued. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”
He’s been focused on his own album Nothing Was the Same, which drops Sept. 24. The project is set to feature appearances from Jay Z, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz.
“There’s a lot less sort of ambient ballad moments on this album where I’m searching or longing for something,” he said of the follow-up to 2011’s Take Care. “That sentiment is gone. Now I’m just kind of like, ‘You know, I’m 26, I don’t know what the fuck else I could be doing better than this. I feel incredible about how I’m able to support my family and friends and how supportive my family and friends have been of me.’”
Drake will kick off his North American tour with Future and Miguel on Sept. 25 in Portland, OR.
